Public Bridleway No. 444 (Worplesdon) Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) & (2)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020
On 21 October 2020 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway No. 444 (Worplesdon) from its junction with Keens Lane (Grid ref. 497878 152385) in a southerly direction for 103 metres.
The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to development works taking place adjacent to the footpath. The closure will be in operation from 30 October 2020 until 24 December 2020, or until completion of repair works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic on foot only from the northern end of the closure is to proceed in an easterly direction along Keens Lane to its junction with Worplesdon Road. Turn right onto Worplesdon Lane and proceed in southerly direction to its junction with Footpath 1. Turn right onto Footpath 1 and then continue along Footpath 444a in an westerly direction to its junction with Bridleway 444. Turn right onto Bridleway 444 and proceed in a northerly direction to the southern end of the closure. The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of the closure is the reverse of the route described above.
There is no alternative route for traffic on horseback.
‘The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway No. 444 (Worplesdon) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020’ was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
