Lest We Forget – Armistice Day 2020

Members of Worplesdon Parish Council, the JWRA (Jacobs Well Residents’ Association) and a small number of residents gathered to commemorate Armistice Day at both the official war memorial in Queenhythe Road, Jacobs Well and in Harry’s Meadow, Jacobs Well this morning.  Wreaths were laid by Emma Raglett and Heather Kidman on behalf of the JWRA, Victoria Fear (Assistant Clerk) and Gaynor White (Clerk to the Council). All gathered observed the two minutes silence at 11am.

They shall grow not old
As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning.

We will remember them.
