A significant amount of builder’s debris has been fly tipped at Pitch Place Green. This has been reported to the Guildford Borough Council cleansing team who will endeavour to collect it within 36 hours.
Can we remind residents, who are employing either builders or waste removers, to confirm with the contractors that they are in receipt of of a waste carrier’s licence. Fly-tipping is a criminal offence punishable by a fine of up to £50,000 or 12 months imprisonment if convicted in a Magistrates’ Court. The offence can attract an unlimited fine and up to 5 years imprisonment if convicted in a Crown Court.
