Don’t miss out on business grants – £3 million already distributed locally

Do you run a business in Guildford borough? Have you applied for funding to help you during the coronavirus? We have already distributed £3.1 million of government funding to local businesses as the coronavirus affects trade across our local economy and expect to make all remaining payments in April.

A number of businesses have still not completed the form with the additional information required by the government which we publicised last week. If this affects your business, please make sure you complete the form at https://www.guildford.gov.uk/busgrant. We cannot pay the grant until you complete this form.

Cllr Joss Bigmore, Lead Councillor for Finance and Assets, Customer Services says: “We know that 50% of businesses in our borough who should be eligible for help from the government haven’t applied for a business grant yet. Don’t miss out on the money that can help you through these difficult times. We have already distributed over £3 million in funding and more claims are being processed every day – we want to help protect all the businesses that make up our vibrant local economy.

“Some business ratepayers only provide us with us with a postal address and we understand that many of you will not be able to visit your business to collect mail at this time. But if you have not provided us with an email address, this is the only way we can contact you, so please make sure your details are up-to-date.”
