This morning, Worplesdon Parish Council, borough councillors and the local community commemorated 75 years since the D-Day landings. The Chairman gave the address; wreaths were laid on behalf of the Parish Council by the Clerk, Mrs Gaynor White and on behalf of the JWRA by Mrs Heather Kidman in Harry’s Meadow and at the war memorial in Queenhythe Road. Two laments were played on the bagpipes by local resident, Mr Kenneth Thomson.
