30 mile sponsored charity walk by Leslie Clarke (86)

The Clerk to Normandy Parish Council who is now 86 and has survived numerous operations on his legs to prevent amputation is doing a sponsored 30 MILE charity walk on 29 August and is looking for sponsorship.

He will be raising funds for two charities close to his heart, both which are desperate for more financial support, namely “Combat Stress”, the Services Mental Health charity which is well known and the less well known “Step by Step” a Teenage Homelessness charity which operates in Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey.

“Step by Step” rescues homeless teenagers, accommodates them, teaches them life skills, helps them to find employment and continues to support them until they are 21.

Leslie will be walking a 3 mile circuit of Normandy ten times.  Each circuit will take him about an hour so the whole walk will take about 10 hours. He will be starting at about 7.00 AM on the 29th August and will, hopefully, complete the walk by 5.00 PM.

If anyone wants to join him for all or any part of the walk or turn out to cheer him on you will be more than welcome.
